Since 1977, Tuscaloosa Community Dancers (TCD) has existed to promote the art of dance in the West Alabama community and provide young dancers pre-professional dance company experience. For the 48th year, talented local dancers will perform the TCD produced, ballet classic, The Nutcracker, at the historic Bama Theatre.
This holiday tradition allows dancers from every local dance studio to advance their talents through skilled instruction from TCD staff and gain valuable stage experience in front of their community. These young dancers also benefit by performing alongside guest artists from the Alabama Ballet, The Alabama School of Fine Arts, the University of Alabama Dance Department, professional dancers from all over the United States as well as talented, local artists who volunteer their time for this production.
These talented dancers perform for their community but they cannot perform without their community. The cost of producing The Nutcracker is approximately $40,000 and even this does not include costume or stage set repairs. Your contribution of $500, $1000, $5,000, or whatever amount you are able to give will help enable TCD to continue to produce the first class productions West Alabama has come to expect. Enclosed you will find the different levels of giving and the ways we will be able to publicly express our gratitude for your participation. TCD is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and contributions are tax-deductible less the value of any tickets received.
Thank you for your financial consideration. We can be reached by phone or email if you should have any questions.
Sincerely yours,
Joyce Phillips TCD Executive Director tcdancers@gmail.com
