Kelly Walsh Alexander began dancing at the age of 12 at the Cantarella School of Dance in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She continued her training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Washington Academy of Performing Arts, Boston Ballet Summer Intensive, and the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School. Kelly joined the Alabama Ballet in 2007 where she had the priviledge of dancing ballets such as Roger Van Fleteren's "Messin' with Mozart", Twyla Tharp's "Nine Sinatra Songs" and "Baker's Dozen" as well as George Balanchine's "Serenade". Kelly has also enjoyed performing classics such as Giselle and Swan Lake during her time with the company. While dancing with the Alabama Ballet, Kelly was given the opportunity to join the faculty of the school and provide training in the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus where she enjoyed teaching in both year round and summer intensive programs.
Joanna Wozniak, Sugar Plum Fairy
Joanna Wozniak joined The Joffrey Ballet as an apprentice in November 2001 and became a full company member in August 2003. Raised in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Ms. Wozniak trained with Sherry Moray, The Chicago Academy of Arts, and Harid Conservatory. Ms. Wozniak has performed feature roles in The Joffrey Ballet’s production of Celebration, Crossed, Confetti, Le Sacre du Printemps, Light Rain, Lilac Garden, The Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet, Suite Saint Saëns and Viva Vivaldi. She has also performed in Sir Frederick Ashton’s A Wedding Bouquet and monotones. She has performed in Balanchine’s Square Dance and Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto. She can be seen as a dancer in the feature film Save the Last Dance and performed for a year with the Alabama Ballet. Her other interests include music, books, teaching, and traveling.
Kyle Seguin, Cavalier
Kyle Seguin began his dance training in Huntsville, AL before attending the University of Alabama as a full scholarship dance major. From 2001-2008, Kyle danced with The Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, Alabama where he performed many principal roles including, Count Albrecht in Giselle, Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake, Prince Desire in The Sleeping Beauty, Franz in Coppelia, El Capitan in George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes, and the title roles in Dracula and Romeo and Juliet. Kyle is a personal trainer, a Stott trained Pilates instructor, holds a BS in Psychology with honors from the University of Alabama in Birmingham and is currently adjunct faculty at Columbia College, Chicago where he teaches ballet, Pilates, and anatomy. In March 2010, Kyle opened One Hundred, a Pilates and Dance studio in Chicago’s East Lakeview neighborhood. Tuscaloosa audiences have seen Kyle as Clara’s Dream Prince/Cavalier in several TCD Nutcracker productions and as Von Rothbart in Swan Lake. Kyle choreographed “Sans Vue”, a contemporary ballet on Tuscaloosa Community Dancers and has taught many Master Ballet Classes for the company.
